Subcontractors & installers

Prove your work before anyone asks

BimDossier is not a second planning system to keep updated for the main contractor. It is your own record of what you fitted, where you fitted it, and what it looked like before the wall closed. Photos, coordinates and certificates, filed as you work. When the question comes, you already have the answer.

The challenge

The wall closes and your proof goes with it

You ran the pipework on a Tuesday, correctly, with the right clearances. The stud wall went up on Thursday. Six weeks later a leak turns up two rooms over, and your name is on the list of people who might have caused it. Nobody kept a photo of that run. Or the reverse. You arrive to fit your part, the substrate is already damaged, you mention it to the site manager, and nothing gets written down. On the final walk-through, that damage is yours. The argument is never about the work. It is about who can show what the wall looked like before it closed.

How this works for you

Proof filed before the wall closes

  • Photograph the run before it is covered and pin the photo to the exact spot on the PDF floor plan or in the 3D model.
  • Mark up the photo itself, so a valve, a fixing or a gap is circled instead of described in words.
  • File the product and installation certificates for what you fitted against the same project, next to the work they cover.
  • Generate a PDF report of your findings, photos and certificates, and hand that to the main contractor as your record.

What you get

Photos pinned to a place

A site photo on its own proves nothing. Pinned to a coordinate, it sits on the model or the plan and shows exactly where you were and what was there.

Snag what was already there

Arrive, find damage that is not yours, pin it and photograph it before you start. The record exists from the moment you set foot on site.

Certificates filed on the project

Product and installation certificates sit against the project instead of in your inbox. When the main contractor asks for them, they are already filed.

Works with no signal

The Android app records findings, photos and checklist runs in a plant room with no bars. Everything syncs once you are back in range, in the order you captured it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the main contractor to use BimDossier too?
No. You can run your own project, upload the plans or model you were given, and keep your evidence there. If the main contractor adds you to their project, you work inside it with the role they set, and every change carries a name and a timestamp. What you hand over is a PDF report either way.
Can I record a finding in a plant room with no signal?
Yes. The Android app captures findings, photos and checklist runs offline, then syncs when you are back in range. There is no iOS app, so an iPhone means working in the browser rather than the app.
We work on a Wkb project. Does that change what I have to deliver?
Your deliverable stays the same: evidence and certificates for the work you did. The bouwmelding and gereedmelding are the main contractor's to file, and the Wkb only covers new build in gevolgklasse 1 anyway, so a good deal of your work sits outside it. BimDossier keeps your side of the record in a form the main contractor can use, and on Dutch projects it can check the model against the applicable Bbl rules.
